Data controller and contact

The data controller is Berkan Çalıkoğlu. For privacy, access, or account-deletion requests, contact support@bcalikoglu.com.

Information we process

• Account information: email address, Firebase user ID, display name, and WatchWise ID.
• Profile information: your selected built-in avatar or an optional profile photo you upload.
• Personal archive: watchlist, watched titles, likes, 0–10 ratings, diary entries, and lists you create.
• Social features: following/follower relationships, visibility choices, reviews and lists you share, activity, reactions, blocks, and reports.
• Technical information: app version, essential diagnostic and crash information, app-security signals, and an anonymous installation key.

Why we process it

• To provide discovery, archive, diary, rating, and list features.
• To sync data across devices when you create an account.
• To operate social features such as following, reviews, sharing, reporting, and blocking safely.
• To fix faults, prevent misuse, and protect the service.
• To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

Visibility and social sharing

Your raw personal archive is accessible only to your account. Other users cannot browse it directly.

Your profile, activity feed, and safe summaries such as Likes, Ratings, Watched, and Watchlist are displayed only to the extent allowed by your settings. You can turn these sections and follower activity off independently in the app.

Reviews you publish and lists you choose to share can be visible to the audience selected by you.

Service providers and third parties

We use Firebase/Google services for authentication, cloud sync, storage, server functions, security, and diagnostics. Profile photos may be automatically safety-checked before they appear on a public surface.

The film and TV catalogue is provided through the TMDB API. We do not send your email address, WatchWise ID, or review text to TMDB for catalogue requests. WatchWise is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

We keep account and content data while your account is active to provide the service. You can delete archive items, reviews, and lists in the app.

You can delete your account from Settings. Deletion starts removal of your account, profile, synced archive, diary and lists, social relationships, and community content associated with you. Limited records may be retained where necessary for security, legal obligations, or dispute resolution.
